Where we are
Cucumber is a New Zealand company owned by Jodie Tipping and Dave MacFarlane. Our newly renovated head office is located in Tauranga central city. Living and working in Tauranga has great lifestyle benefits and still allows us to work with clients throughout New Zealand or internationally.
Our team
Our success depends largely on three things – our team, our approach to work and the solution.
We are big enough to have access to a wide range of skills without becoming too big that we’re bound in bureaucracy.
As we develop this site, you’ll find a Team section that will introduce you to each of our team members including the skills that they bring to the table.
What we do
We work in information technology with a web focus. As a Microsoft Certified Partner, our solutions are primarily developed using Microsoft technologies that include the .Net framework, Microsoft SharePoint, and Microsoft SQL Server amongst other complementary technologies.
We do three types of work – projects, support, and consulting:
- Consulting – if you need help in your business to undertake an online review, provide some advice on strategy, or assist in gathering requirements and documenting business processes, or simply project management we can help. Recent examples have included writing business cases, website audits, and sourcing skilled IT resources including development, testing and project management.
- Projects – we cover the full project lifecycle including strategic planning and project selection, project management, design, business analysis, development, testing, documentation, installation, training, and support. We can also help you with your approach to benefit realisation.
- Support – we stand by the systems that we have implemented and can also support third party systems.
We also have excellent industry connections with hosting providers, content management solution providers, and web specialists covering areas such as search engine optimization, social media, and writing for the web.
In short, if you’re looking to do anything online we can either help or point you in the right direction.
Our approach to work
We value relationships. This means that we like to interact with our clients in a face to face setting as much as possible, and we’re NOT into delivering surprises and then heading for the door. While we’ve seen the benefits of agile project delivery, we’re not stuck on a predefined way of delivering projects.
We’re happy to use traditional waterfall, prototyping, or scrum delivery methodologies. We discuss and agree on all of this upfront with you before we get started.
